Machu Picchu
Little Monkeyme has spent some of his education in South America and traveled extensively around the region. He has been to Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, and is currently in Chile. Second Monkeyme has been to Mexico, El Salvador, and Panama. We also had an exchange student staying with us for six months from Brazil.
Uros Floating Island
No doubt the most famous attraction of Peru is the Machu Picchu and the only reason you have to go to Cusco, as this is the place where you start your journey to the lost Incan City. Machu Picchu is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the Americas.
Santiago, Chile
May to October is the recommended time to visit this Sacred Valley. There are several ways to go to Machu Picchu from Cusco either by rail, bus, helicopter or simply follow the Inca Trail by hiking from Aguas Calientes. Little Monkey and Anna, always the adventurous types, decided to do it by hiking.
